How It all Began...
David and Shelby met nearly six years ago in the most modern of ways—they were “matched.” Their first date came with a bit of humor and a hint of what was to come: Shelby asked David to order her food, and when he did, she quickly told him he ordered it wrong. A small moment, but a memorable one.
At the time, neither of them were searching for love. Both were single parents, simply navigating life the best they could with their children by their side. But God was already at work, planting seeds for something greater. There was an undeniable pull between them—something magnetic, something deeper.
Their journey together has been anything but ordinary. They’ve experienced highs and lows, steps forward and steps back, seasons of closeness and seasons apart. At one point, they even decided that being together wasn't the right path, choosing instead to focus on being the best co-parents they could be.
But as the saying goes, “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.” — Proverbs 19:21
God, in His perfect timing, had a greater plan in store. During a season of separation, they each worked on themselves, seeking clarity, growth, and purpose. And in that process, something beautiful happened—their lives began to align in new and unexpected ways. Their hearts softened. Their paths converged once again, this time with deeper love, greater understanding, and shared faith.
They fell in love all over again—not with who they used to be, but with who they were becoming. They started praying together. Laughing more. Creating new memories. Building new habits. Becoming teammates, best friends, and partners in every sense of the word.
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” — Romans 8:28
Today, David and Shelby are ready to step into a lifelong commitment—hand in hand, heart to heart, and with God at the center. Their story is not perfect, but it is perfectly theirs. And the love they share now is stronger, deeper, and more enduring than ever before.
They fall more in love every day, and they are so excited to celebrate this next chapter with you.
“Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” — Ecclesiastes 4:12
